Diagnostic Biosystems INSM1 A-8 INSM1 (A-8)
INSM1 (insulinoma-associated protein 1), also known as zinc-finger protein IA-1, is a developmentally regulated zinc-finger transcription factor. It localizes to the nucleus and is expressed in embryonic tissues undergoing neuroendocrine differentiation. INSM1 is not expressed in normal adult tissues but it can be found highly expressed in neuroendocrine tumors. INSM1 contains five Cys2-His2-type zinc-finger DNA binding domains and a prohormone domain. INSM1 acts as a transcriptional repressor of the Neuro D promoter and recruits cyclin D1 as a corepressor. It plays an importantrole in neuroendocrine development and isrequired for normal differentiation of pancreatic endocrine cells. Inhibition of INSM1 results in decreased formation of glucagon and Insulin positive cells. The gene encoding INSM1 is directly regulated by Neurogenin 3 which binds chromatin in the INSM1 promoter region and induces transcription.
Diagnostic Biosystems MICROPHTHALMIA Microphthalmia Transcription Factor, MiTF
This antibody reacts with a 52-56 kDa protein known as microphthalmia (Mi). This antibody reacts with both melanocytic and non-melanocytic isoforms of Mi. Mi is a basic helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper (b-HLH-ZIP) transcription factor implicated in pigmentation, mast cells and bone development. There are two known isoforms of Mi differing by 66 amino acids at the amino terminus.
Diagnostic Biosystems ADIPOPHILIN Adipophilin
Recognizes a protein of 48kDa, which is identified as Adipophilin. It belongs to the perilipin family, members of which coat intracellular lipid storage droplets. This protein is associated with the lipid globule surface membrane material, and maybe involved in development and maintenance of adipose tissue. However, it is not restricted to adipocytes as previously thought, but is found in a wide range of cultured cell lines, including fibroblasts, endothelial and epithelial cells, and tissues, such as lactating mammary gland, adrenal cortex, Sertoli and Leydig cells, and hepatocytes in alcoholic liver cirrhosis, suggesting that it may serve as a marker of lipid accumulation in diverse cell types and diseases.
Diagnostic Biosystems NAPSIN A Napsin A
Napsin is found in two isoforms, A and B, with highly homologous gene sequences. Napsin A has a molecular weight of 35.0 kDa and is also known as TA02. Napsin A is an aspartic proteinase which is expressed in the lung and involved in processing surfactant protein B (SP-B). It is also expressed in the kidney. This antibody may be a useful tool as a tumor marker for primary lung adenocarcinoma. Napsin expression correlates with the differentiation grade of lung adenocarcinoma.

Diagnostic Biosystems 10X ANTIGEN RETRIEVAL 10X Antigen Retrieval Buffer High pH 10.0
10X Antigen Retrieval Buffer High pH 10.0 is designed for use during the heat induced epitope retrieval (HIER) step prior to immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections. The use of this buffer in combination with heat (often by microwave, water bath, or pressure cooker) has been shown to restore the antigenicity of proteins modified during the formalin fixation of tissue. This buffer is supplied as a 10X stock solution.

This antibody reacts with the human C3c complement and the C3c part of C3 and C3b. It may cross react with the C3c complement from cat, cow, dog, goat, guinea pig, kangaroo, mink, mouse, rat, sheep, and swine. Traces of contaminating antibodies have been removed by solid phase absorption with human plasma proteins. This antibody is well suited for tissue section staining but may be also used for other applications.
